The U16’s travelled to play their opening match of this years All County Hurling League at the Fr Barrett Park in Loughgiel on a bright Easter Monday.
The opening score of the match was taken by Conor Boyd and within the first ten minutes Ballycastle lead 0-6 to 0-1. As the half progressed the MacUilin men opened up a healthy gap going into halftime 2-9 to 0-7.
Again as in the first half Conor Boyd opened the scoring for the town who went onto score a further nine points. Loughgiel managed to claw back a few scores putting 1-02 past the MacUilin men.
A fantastic display from the entire team and great opening win, up next St Enda’s Monday 13th at 6.45pm at Paîrc MacUilin.
